Water Tanks – Penola
Penola is a town in South Australia, located about 338 kilometres southeast of Adelaide in the wine growing area known as the Coonawarra. Penola’s population is over 1,317 and it is known as the central location in the life of Mary MacKillop (St. Mary of the Cross), the first Australian to gain Roman Catholic sainthood
Local historic character John Riddoch planted the first grape vines in the area and helped to diversify the pastoral economy of the area with an agricultural industry. In 1878 he built the Yallum homestead which was completed in 1880. In 1890 he established the Penola Fruit Growing Colony which was renamed Coonawarra in 1897.
With the diversity and growth of such a varied range of industries in the area, there has been an increasing demand for high-quality water storage facilities and infrastructure. As water is no longer the freely available commodity that it has been in the past, the community will need to have a stronger focus on harvesting and storing water in order to meet demand for future rural household and commercial supply.
If you would like to increase your water storage capacity for your business or provide additional domestic supply for your home, Heritage Water Tanks can offer high-quality water tanks for all your water harvesting and storage needs.
